Ohhhhhh, okay. I live in the "Deep South" and we use maybe a pound of salt for the entire state each year, if that. The roads get gravel if they need traction; there's one bridge near me that still has gravel all over the shoulders and median from the blizzard of 2011. (I don't think the 2014 one got any gravel at all since it was twice as bad and this time people knew not to go out.)
